bullet imagebullet imageThe purpose of this site is to present information about the Grassi brothers work in Bangkok Thailand and the monument for Antonio deGrassi located in Capodistria (Koper, Solvenia).

(note: this site is under construction, refinements on the way)

In 1870 three brothers from Capodistria (now Koper, Slovenia) went to Bangkok and began work for the royal family of Rama V.


      The brothers Grassi were Gioachino, an       architect; Antonio, a sculptor; and Giacomo.



 The first page of this site contains a history, written by Lucio Nalesini, of the brothers and their work in Bangkok, plus a descrpition of the burial monument (in Koper) for Antonio designed by Gioachino.

The second page contains a description of the architectural features of Antonio's mounment.

The third page contains photographs of some of the buildings designed and constructed by the Grassi Brothers firm.

The fourth page reprints a very brief biography of Gioachino with a list of 19  buildings and additional photos.

The brothers established Grassi Bros as a business dealing in architectural design, building and general construction.
